Richard Rezny is a Certified Public Accountant with experience spanning public accounting, corporate finance, banking, and business advisory services. He founded Rezny CPA PC to provide individuals and business owners with proactive tax guidance, financial clarity, and practical advice that extends beyond annual tax compliance.
In January 2026, Rezny CPA PC succeeded Maness CPA PC, continuing a long-standing tradition of serving individuals, families, and businesses throughout the Charlotte region.
Prior to launching the firm, Richard served in senior financial leadership roles, including as Chief Financial Officer of private-equity-backed companies. Earlier in his career, he worked as a bank examiner with the Federal Reserve System, evaluating financial institutions and their risk management practices. These experiences provide him with a broad perspective on financial reporting, business operations, taxation, and strategic decision-making.
Today, Richard works closely with entrepreneurs, real estate investors, professionals, and closely held businesses to help them navigate tax matters, improve financial visibility, and make informed business decisions. His philosophy is simple: clients deserve an advisor who combines technical expertise with responsiveness, professionalism, and a genuine interest in their success.
Richard holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and a Bachelor of Science in Accountancy from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. He is a licensed Certified Public Accountant in North Carolina (#48831) and Illinois (#065.063409) and holds the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation.
Richard's work is supported by an administrative assistant and a bookkeeper.
When he is not serving clients, Richard enjoys spending time with his wife and two children and remains actively involved in his church and the local business community.
